Our Consultants
Enlightened Brand was an early adopter of the virtual-team approach to consulting. Our consultants are independent professionals working from their homes in locations around the world. We are drawn together by a shared commitment to excellence and a passion for the power of enlightened brands.
All Enlightened Brand engagements are led by company founder and president, Pam Van Orden.
Pam often works independently, serving as strategic advisor, facilitator or brand storyteller for businesses that want to enhance their management teams or enrich their executive retreats.
For larger projects, such as rebranding or customer experience design, Pam turns to Enlightened Brand's extensive network of subject-matter experts. Together, we can provide you with a full range of services to make your brand a market leader for our connected world.

Pam Van Orden, President
Pam’s fascination with the brands we buy began in the 1950s. As a young girl, she would spend hours studying the ads that graced the big glossy pages of popular magazines such as Life and Look.
Today, Pam is a sought after speaker, facilitator, and management advisor who specializes in helping companies develop and communicate their authentic brand stories.
Pam is founder of Enlightened Brand and publisher of Enlightened Brand Journal, an enewsletter subscribed to by business and brand professionals in more than 40 countries.
Throughout the course of her 30-year career, Pam has kept one foot in the world of business and the other in the world of consciousness. These dual passions have led her to focus her work on the roles of awareness and integrity in building brands that succeed in the workplace and the marketplace.
Pam’s experience building brands extends across a broad base of clients and client types from small businesses and nonprofit organizations to the Global 1000 and government agencies. Enlightened Brand clients include such leading organizations as Fritz Institute, Juniper Networks, NASA, Sun Microsystems, and Swisscom.
Prior to founding Enlightened Brand, Pam served as corporate identity manager for Intel Corporation and global brand strategy manager for Symantec. She began her career as an award-winning designer and creative director for companies such as Apple, Applied Biosystems, Atari, Matrix Pharmaceutical, Mitsubishi, and Shaman Pharmaceuticals. Pam was educated in design at the renowned Vesper George School of Art in Boston, Massachusetts.

Pål Bergström, Designer
Living and working in Sweden, Pål Bergström offers consultancy and solutions in design, design direction, Web design and development. His area of expertise, apart from the actual craftsmanship, lies in the correlation between corporate design and corporate behavior, working under the guidelines of his own philosophy. Pål was responsible for developing the Enlightened Brand Web site. The blend of business sense and design sensitivity that he brought to the site was instrumental in successfully positioning Enlightened Brand. Pål understands the importance of paying attention to the nuances of a company’s identity and then intelligently integrating them into the brand experience. He has worked on a variety of client accounts, including Ericsson Dedicated Networks, Green Cargo, Skandia, and V&S Group (owner of Absolut Vodka). Pål received his Master of Arts degree in Design Management from Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. Prior to entering the field of design, he studied Business Economics and Marketing at Lund University in Sweden.

Kellie Greene, Designer
Kellie Greene has built her stellar design reputation meeting the graphic design needs of companies in the LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) Market segments, including such leaders as LOHAS Journal, Natural Business, The Natural Marketing Institute, New Hope Natural Media, and Wild Oats Markets. She has designed more than 40 Web sites, including sites for RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), Citizens for Health, and the Beans for Health Alliance (a nonprofit organization aimed at reducing world hunger and malnutrition). Kellie draws on her experience working in sales, marketing, and design for many years at a publishing house covering the natural and organic products industry in the United States and abroad. Growing up in Lake Tahoe instilled in her a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. Kellie balances hours inside at the computer with heavy doses of time outside in nature and approaches both with a zest for new experiences and life itself. Kellie has had a life-long love affair with the ocean; however, she is currently courting the Rocky Mountains.

Carol Iverson, Proofreader
Carol Iverson brings her love of detail and commitment to excellence to the care of our clients’ brands. Serving as the gatekeeper for communications clarity, she fine-tunes our words and graphics before they go online or are printed. Carol has a natural affinity for the science of living systems found at the heart of Enlightened Brand’s work. A Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Science is found on her résumé; hidden, however, are over 20 years she was a medical technologist in the clinical laboratories of California’s San Francisco Bay Area. A perfectionist (bordering on microscopic) in attention to detail, a reader since age four, and raised by a grandmother admonishing her to “keep her eyes peeled and pay attention,” Carol continues with this style and a freelance business that she loves and finds to be a perfect fit. Her clients range from mutual fund companies to graphic design houses. Her tag line: from business cards to billboards.

Carol Miller, Writer
Carol Miller is a PhD in English and a published poet and critic. She transitioned from academia to consulting in 2004 to make a difference in the way language builds and serves compelling brands. She brings considerable linguistic expertise to the task, along with the conviction that the most powerful and emotional brand associations are driven by concrete language. Because of the way it appeals to the senses, language is especially effective in forging meaningful connections and shaping memorable brands. For Enlightened Brand, Carol has helped to shape the language used by Enterprise Development Group, Fritz Institute, and Swisscom. Carol has worked with a range of companies from BP and California Closets, to start-up ventures and non-profit organizations. One of her favorite assignments was her partnership with documentary photographer and filmmaker Zana Briski on the creation of the companion book to Briski’s Academy Award-winning film, Born into Brothels. When not hunched over her keyboard composing something, Carol is an active California Bay Area volunteer and outdoorswoman.
